This love story started the most 21st-century way possible: with a like on Hinge that led to exactly one in-person date in March 2020 — just before the world shut down.
Undeterred (and ahead of any official quarantine etiquette), Andre asked Kayla on a FaceTime date every Friday night. One Friday turned into three months. Weekly remote dates became nightly calls. And when they finally reunited in person, it was clear: Andre’s effortless charm perfectly matched Kayla’s signature quirk.
Then, on a beach in Newport, Rhode Island, Andre got down on one knee. Kayla said yes. It was the best Monday ever.
From there came movie marathons, epic dates, Sandwich Sundays, and adventures near and far — the kind of love that feels equal parts cozy, joyful, and full of moments that always turn into very long-winded stories.
